I really wanted to submit something to the Pepper Project [link] before the deadline of March 1. I finally found some time yesterday (well okay, I took some time away from a long list of 'other things' I needed to be doing. )
Pencil drawing with watercolor. I did another version of it laid out as a poster and I'm still trying to decide if I like it better than this simpler version. I'm not sure if I'll upload it here...can't seem to decide if simpler is better.
Edit: the "poster" version can be seen here: [link]
This is gorgeous! I love how you let the watercolour really do it's thing. It really added so much more feeling to her. Almost like she really is dancing on the paper. Great job!
Awesome, I love the colors and the paint splatters! Personally I don't think the headphones fit, I think it would be neat to see some headphones with a tribal design (dripping with beads and silk fray, for example) to match her style a little better. But I guess that's a suggestion for the next Pepper artbook
Superb work. She looks wise, gracious and elegant. The colors are wonderful.
On the other hand, what kind of person not only wants to publish a whole book full of homages to his own work, not only expects artists to work for free, but has the sheer arrogance of telling people, not once, not twice, but three times, that they won't have to PAY to enter the contest? It should be called the Hubris Project.
Love it, your anatomy is always so perfect, and these colors go so well together - even where they are all placed just looks so... right! (I prefer this version)
Thanks! I know where you're coming from re: this sort of competition. I give this kind of thing a lot of thought before I enter, and in this case I used it to get myself to create something during a time when I've been struggling to produce more than pencil drawings. Sometimes a little competition is just what I need.
Thanks for the comment, and for the suggestion--a good one. I might have added more stuff to those headphones if I had started this thing a bit earlier; I felt like I was running out of time (and steam) on this project and needed to call it done.
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.

I really hope your piece is included, though.
